Scientific evidence infrastructure, built to be audited.
Violema, Inc. is a Delaware corporation headquartered in Chicago. We build software and review protocols that connect scientific claims to primary sources, expose consequential assumptions, and keep conclusions open to independent domain sign-off.
Founder profile · Systems architecture meets scientific synthesis
Thirty years turning complex data into decisions.
Max Markovtsev is a Chicago-based founder and systems architect who has spent three decades in marketing strategy, business intelligence, and governed AI systems for high-stakes decisions.
Before founding Violema, Inc. and its first scientific division, PsychDoc.AI ↗, Max spent fifteen years in marketing strategy and business intelligence at Leo Burnett, BBDO, and J. Walter Thompson, then ran his own agency and consultancy from 2010 to 2017. Since 2017 he has built governed machine-learning and multi-agent verification pipelines in Chicago.
Why a systems architect builds scientific evidence infrastructure
Most AI tools fail science because they treat papers as text to summarize rather than experiments to audit. Violema was built on a different premise: let deterministic code handle citation graphs, sample-overlap tracking, and statistical reproduction, and ask named domain scientists to review the scientific conclusions.
Career & systems track record · Select an era to inspect30+ years
J. Walter Thompson · Leo Burnett · BBDO (1994 to 2009)
Marketing strategy and business intelligence.
At 19, Max helped open Leo Burnett’s Moscow office on the Procter & Gamble account. Over the next decade and a half at Leo Burnett, BBDO, and J. Walter Thompson, he served as Senior Digital Strategist and Director of Business Intelligence across global consumer, financial, and public-sector programs.

Own agency & consulting (2010 to 2017)
Strategy and analytics, run independently.
From 2010 to 2017 Max ran his own agency and consulted directly for brands, carrying his agency years of marketing strategy and business intelligence into independent client work.
Purple Orange AI · Purple Orange Group (2017 to present · Chicago)
Governed multi-agent workflows and human-in-the-loop verification.
Since 2017 in Chicago, Max has led Purple Orange AI, designing production machine learning and multi-agent systems where every automated step leaves an inspectable audit trail before a human operator approves it.
Architectural principle carried into Violema
Never let a language model act as an unverified authority. Use deterministic code for retrieval, schema validation, and math; use AI to draft candidate records with verbatim quotes attached; require human approval at every gate.
Violema, Inc. & PsychDoc.AI (2026 to present · Chicago)
Scientific evidence infrastructure for contested fields.
Max founded Violema, Inc. and its first operating division, PsychDoc.AI, to solve the 67-week bottleneck in scientific literature synthesis without sacrificing methodological rigor.
What exists today
Two versioned evidence corpora (psychedelic neuroscience & perovskite solar-cell stability), 24 source papers traced into 23 tiered claims across 15 research programs, and a 4-decimal R statistical reproduction of the SYPRES 2026 depression meta-analysis.
Academic foundation & conflict-of-interest disclosure
Clear role boundaries and zero commercial drug ties.
Trained in Economics, Statistics, and Informatics at Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics, and Informatics (MESI, 1991 to 1995), Max leads product architecture, citation-graph engineering, and statistical reproduction at Violema, Inc.
Non-clinician & independence disclosure
Max Markovtsev is identified in his engineering and publishing role, not as a clinician or medical reviewer. Scientific conclusions await independent review by domain specialists. Neither Max Markovtsev nor Violema, Inc. holds shares, options, or advisory roles in any psychedelic drug developer.
When a scientific field moves fast and papers disagree, a paragraph summary hides the exact details a decision depends on.

Why traditional evidence reviews fall behind
$141,195 and 67 weeks per systematic review.
A drug developer, clinical trial team, research fund, or journal editor needs an answer this quarter. By the time a traditional review lands, new trials have changed the picture, so teams fall back on abstracts and press releases.
What Violema replaces
Instead of a static PDF summary that hides disagreements, Violema builds a living, claim-by-claim record that shows which claims hold, why they hold that tier, and what new evidence would change them. Benchmarks: Michelson & Reuter (Contemp Clin Trials Commun, 2019); Borah et al. (BMJ Open, 2017).
Violema is the engine. Each division serves one field.
PsychDoc.AI · Psychedelic medicine (Live)+
Our first operating division. Tracks psychedelic neuroscience and clinical trials claim by claim, starting with psilocybin neuroplasticity and depression meta-analysis stress testing.
Exercises the same source-to-claim record and condition comparison matrix outside medicine, showing where incompatible test conditions block statistical pooling.
Each scientific product stays clean and focused on its domain literature while Violema, Inc. maintains the shared verification engine.
How Violema makes money without compromising conclusions
Free to read. Paid to commission.
Public living syntheses are free for researchers, clinicians, and the press. Drug developers, R&D teams, and university trial groups pay to commission a synthesis on their own question.
Three firewall rules
1. Sponsors choose the research question, never the tier or the conclusion. 2. A sponsor never edits, approves or previews conclusions before the scientific editor signs them off. 3. Every commissioned review is published within six months of delivery, with its funder named.
Violema, Inc. holds no equity, options, or advisory roles in any drug developer.Download sample packet

Deterministic trace
A weekly scan follows citations out from seed papers, and code groups papers into independent research programs by shared authors. The published SYPRES analysis was re-run in R and matched to four decimals.
Verification rule: Counts on the trust panel are computed by code, not written by hand.
AI models assist with candidate search, screening proposals against written rules, and drafting claims. Nothing is published until the publisher approves the change.
Verification rule: AI is never credited as an author or a reviewer. An automated stress test is not peer review.
Each Violema division stays clean and dedicated to its own scientific community, while company and governance records live here on violema.com.
First division · Live in production
Psychedelic research, claim by claim.
Living public syntheses, interactive bias stress tests, molecule-to-clinic evidence chains, and commissioned reviews for drug developers, investors, and academic trial teams.
Perovskite solar-cell stability under ISOS reporting rules
Demonstrates how the Violema record travels outside medicine: four perovskite stability reports traced claim by claim, exposing where incompatible illumination, temperature, and humidity conditions forbid a pooled statistical estimate.
Next horizon: pre-publication claim verification tools for peer reviewers, journals, and universities.
